A few simple habits will keep your sofa and bed looking and feeling beautiful for years to come.
Plump cushions weekly and rotate seat and back cushions to spread wear evenly. Loose-fill cushions love a daily fluff.
Vacuum upholstery weekly using a soft brush attachment on low suction. Get into the seams and under the cushions to lift dust and crumbs.
Blot — never rub — spills immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Use lukewarm water and a tiny amount of mild soap. Test on a hidden area first.
Direct sunlight will fade fabric and velvet over time. Position furniture out of strong sun, or close blinds during peak hours.
Vacuum weekly. For marks, blot with a damp cloth and a drop of mild detergent. Avoid soaking the fabric. For stubborn stains, call a professional upholstery cleaner.
Brush gently with a soft clothes brush in the direction of the pile to keep it looking even. Avoid water marks — blot spills immediately and dry naturally.
Vacuum along the lines of the cord with a soft brush. Avoid abrasive cleaners which can flatten the texture.
Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid solvents, bleach or wax polishes — they can crack the surface over time.
Rotate your mattress head-to-foot every 1–3 months in the first year, then twice a year after that. Use a mattress protector to extend its life.
